Offline Asset — Privacy Policy
Offline Asset (“we”, “our”, “us”) provides the Offline Asset application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy describes how information is handled when you use the App.
If you use the App in Chinese or another language, the translated text is provided for convenience. In case of conflict with the English version, the English version prevails unless local law requires otherwise.
We do not collect your financial information
The App is designed to operate entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit to our servers, sell, rent, or aggregate any portfolio data, ledger entries, attachments, notes, voice recordings, or other content you enter in the App. We cannot access your ledger contents—they remain under your control on your device.
There is no sign-up account required to use the App, no built-in cloud synchronization of your financial records to our infrastructure, and no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs that read your ledger content.
Where your data is stored
Your database, attachments, and settings are stored locally on your device and encrypted at rest using keys derived from your master password (and platform secure storage where applicable). Processing occurs on-device.
Because we do not receive your data, we cannot restore, decrypt, or recover your information if you lose your device or forget your password.
Biometric unlock
If you enable biometric unlock (for example fingerprint or Face ID), the operating system may store secrets needed for unlocking only in the device secure enclave or secure storage. That process does not send your master password or ledger contents to us.
Imports, exports, backups, and shared files
When you import a backup (for example a “.pgbak” file) or export data (PDF, CSV, encrypted backup, or via the system share sheet), you choose where files are saved or sent. Files may leave your device’s sole control once you share or copy them.
You are responsible for safeguarding exported or imported files and any copies you make. Anyone who obtains your backup file and your password may be able to decrypt the backup. Store backups and exports in a secure location and delete copies you no longer need.
Third parties
The App does not send your ledger contents to us. Operating-system services (such as file picker, share sheet, biometric APIs, photo picker, or notifications) are governed by your platform provider’s policies.
Children’s privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 in jurisdictions where that threshold applies, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children as part of operating the App. If you believe information has been provided inappropriately, contact us using the in-app contact option.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change accordingly. Material changes may be highlighted within the App where appropriate.
